Valves

We at Hawk Pumps offer a variety of unloader valves, safety valves, pressure regulating vales and zero pressure regulator valves for our pumps

Unloader Valves

The unloader valves regulate the pressure of a high pressure cleaner. When the gun is shut off, the water flow is by-passed at reduced pressure. Hawk offers a wide range of unloader valves.

Safety/Pressure Relief Valves

A safety valve serves a similar purpose to a safety dump valve. When there is a pressure spike in the system, the safety valve, opens and releases water in order to relieve the pressure and thereby protect the pump. However, unlike a safety dump valve, it does not stay open and the unit can continue to be run. Water may appear to ‘drip’ from the valve as it releases pressure every time there is a pressure spike – this is normal. It is also known as a pressure relief valve.

Please note, the valves supplied are not pressure adjusted. They become a safety device only when adjusted by the installer of the machine.

Safety Dump Valves

A safety dump valve serves a similar purpose to a safety valve. When there is a pressure spike in the system, the safety dump valve, opens and releases water in order to relief the pressure and thereby protect the pump. However, unlike a safety valve, it stays open until the unit has been switched off.

Please note, the valves supplied are not pressure adjusted. They become a safety device only when adjusted by the installer of the machine.

Pressure Regulating Valves

The VRP 175 is a compensated pressure regulating valve with double connection for inlet port. It regulates the bypass of the fluid with a minimum variation of the pressure. It is also suitable to be used as a safety valve.

Please note, the valves supplied are not pressure adjusted. They become a safety device only when adjusted by the installer of the machine.

Zero Pressure Regulator Valve

The Zero Pressure Regulator offers an unique approach to chemical metering into pumping systems using pressurized water supplies. Unlike conventional water supply regulators, this valve works on the “demand” principle.

When the pump starts, a negative pressure is instantly generated in the pump’s suction line. This negative pressure reacts on the regulator’s diaphragm to open the supply valve and allow water to flow to the pump. As the vacuum reaches 5″Hg, the regulator will balance and hold this negative suction line pressure. A built-in return check valve allows the suction to balance out at the normal water supply pressure.

Even if the incoming water supply pressure varies, the Zero Pressure Regulator will maintain a precise vacuum level which is used to draw chemical into the system. Only a precision chemical metering pump is more accurate than this valve.

The body is constructed from brass, the diaphragm housing is in stainless steel, while the diaphragm is made from nylon reinforced Buna. Internal valve parts are Nickel plated for durability.

This model is a weep-type and is suitable for car washes.

Flow Regulator Check Valves

Non-return valves and check valves are flow regulating valves which allows a one-way flow, preventing back flow.
